while combing the beaches on a trip with friends, we collected pieces of broken shells. beautifully coloured, i couldn't help but picture them as earrings. this brought up memories of childhood, when i would collect shells and stones, then dream of turning them into jewellery.

of course i never did - shells are so fragile and my attempts at drilling holes or looping threads were not successful. 

but now i can turn these natural treasures into sentimental pieces, and i did just that with those shells collected with friends.
